A flower, a wish. Participatory floral action.

For the thirteenth consecutive year and already established as a festive tradition of the city following the success of previous editions, Friends of La Rambla invites Barcelona residents and visitors to participate in "One Flower, One Wish," a participatory project with flowers and La Rambla de les Flors as its absolute protagonists.

Each year La Rambla celebrates the festival of its patron saint, the Mare de Déu del Roser. The image is located in the outdoor area of the Virreina and it was tradition for the collective of Florists of La Rambla to dedicate an offering to her. Following this tradition, and based on an idea from graphic designer Claret Serrahima, the School of Floral Art and Garden Design of Catalonia designed a floral action for citizens and city visitors to participate actively by introducing a flower under the motto: "One Flower, One Wish."

Building on Claret Serrahima's idea, the School of Floral Art and Garden Design of Catalonia requested the company Pont de Querós, specialized in willow architecture and led by Master Craftswoman cisteller Joan Farré, to build a 4 m high x 1.5 m wide snail-shaped structure woven with wicker at the base and mouth in order to leave the central part free with chicken wire fabric to place the flowers.

As the festival of the Mare de Déu del Roser is celebrated, 4,000 roses will be placed, which Friends of La Rambla distribute among the attending public.

This festival has the particularity of combining tradition with new artistic and cultural trends, from basketry crafts to floral art, creating a unique artistic piece and making the offering to the Mare de Déu del Roser an act of citizen participation. This action is possible thanks to the involvement of individuals, organizations, schools, and companies, who through their collaboration, bring to the city a new way of understanding a floral offering.
