Death of an Actor by Guillem Clua at the Romea Theater

At Teatre Romea you can see, from March 21st to April 27th, Mort d'un Comediant by Guillem Clua. Jordi Bosch, Mercè Pons, and Francesc Marginet, directed by Josep Maria Mestres, are the luxury cast of this play.

Adri, a young caregiver, starts working at the home of Llorenç Cardona, one of the most respected and beloved actors in Catalonia. On his first day, his niece Miranda warns him that in order to keep the job, he will have to follow a lot of rules that go beyond his usual tasks: in the final stretch of his life, Llorenç seems to have lost his mind and sometimes decides to act like the characters he has portrayed during his long career, forcing Adri to go along. Throughout their cohabitation, Llorenç embodies all kinds of mythical characters as he establishes an increasingly close relationship with his caregiver, who will end up discovering the true reason why the old actor has found refuge in theatrical fiction to escape from a reality he is unable to face.
