When she started singing in 2000, Katia Guerreiro was finishing her degree in Medicine, a profession she practiced for 12 years. Soon, people said that during the day she healed bodies as a doctor, and at night she healed souls with her singing, with her fado.

That's how Katia Guerreiro became a fado singer and finally decided to dedicate herself completely to healing souls, a mission she has carried out for many years. However, it was in 2000 when she truly delivered her soul, her light, her voice, and her destiny to fado.

Twenty-five years later, she is recognized as one of the most important fado singers of the new millennium and, above all, as an ambassador of fado and Portugal on the most diverse stages and cultural circles around the world. She has performed in the most prestigious venues on all continents and at the most emblematic music festivals on the planet. In Portugal, she was decorated with the Order of Infante D. Henrique and in France, she received the title of Chevalier de l'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres.

Today she is considered one of the most outstanding figures of Portuguese culture worldwide and one of the brightest voices of her generation. The awards and recognitions she has received testify to her valuable contribution to the dissemination of fado and the strengthening of Portugal's projection in the world.
