Artistic installations
This year, we wanted to incorporate installations in “La Rambla, en flor” that go beyond floral art.
The Il·lacions Gallery (La Rambla, 130 main) presents “A practice of porosity” by Magdalena Hart.
The Il·lacions Gallery presents “A practice of porosity”, a series of 12 motorized sculptures resulting from Magdalena Hart's recent research.
"A practice of porosity is a living investigation that proposes composting my artistic practice as a symbolic, material, and ecological gesture. Exploring the process as a porous body that absorbs, distills, and releases. This proposal arises from the intimacy of capturing the subtleties of my research, the delicacies of the process itself.
Understanding editing as a molt. My practice has become porous, capable of dissolving in water, breaking, burning, or blowing away. This proposal stretches and deepens this process: a composting methodology where reflections and techniques break down into emerging ideas, where meaning germinates and shifts according to time, matter, and context. Composting my practice means embracing cycles of decomposition and regeneration, of breaking and repairing. A gesture to revisit: what is preserved, what is archived, what is buried. In a present marked by ecological and narrative tensions, composting the archive becomes an urgent act. Language, as organic matter, erodes over time: a fertile ground for new configurations of thought."
MAGDALENA HART
Magdalena Hart develops a practice situated between art, ecology, and technology, exploring how to imagine possible futures from the realm of sensitivity and the more-than-human. Her history of personal and family migrations has marked a sensitivity towards the body as an archive and language as a mutable territory. She investigates elements as poetic forms to connect micro and macro scales.
In 2018, she co-founded Akyute, a duo of interactive installations; in 2023, Rain and Rivers, portable glass sculptures that articulate fragility and presence; and Manglar, a transdisciplinary collective inspired by hybrid ecosystems. These practices are articulated as living methodologies that question hierarchies of knowledge, fostering expanded listening, play, and collective creation. She develops sensitive devices to inhabit the ecological and narrative tensions of the present.
La Foneria. La Rambla, 2
La Foneria anticipates its future on La Rambla with an artistic installation that links flowers with new technologies.
Visitable gardens:
Garden of the Ateneu Barcelonès. Canuda, 6. Tuesday, October 7 from 11 am to 7 pm
Garden of Casa Ignacio de Puig. Boqueria, 10. From 10 am to 7 pm. Access through the lobby of Hotel Petit Palace Boqueria Garden.
Some of the flowers in the decorations are ephemeral, meaning that on October 4 all the decorations will be in place, but some will be removed before the 12th.
