Laika at the Romea with the family

This January, at the Romea Theater, you can see Laika.

Laika, awarded with the Max 2021 prize as the best show for family audiences, talks to us about the wonders of the sky but also about the injustices of the Earth. 1957.

We are in Moscow. In the midst of the Cold War and the space race. Laika is a little dog surviving on the icy city streets. She could never imagine that her destiny would take her to space inside the Sputnik II spacecraft and she would go down in history as the first living being to orbit the Earth. Xirriquiteula uses various techniques in this show such as live rear projections, automated puppets, shadows, and the acting interpretation of characters speaking in an invented Russian language, accompanied by a beautiful soundtrack.

Laika is a work by Xirriquiteula Teatre directed by Enric Ases. The show is in Catalan and is recommended for children aged 4 or older.
