Liceu Vocal Big Band + Liceu Big Band

Within the Liceu Jazz Cycle, the Live Room Conservatori Liceu hosts the concerts of the large ensembles of the Department of Jazz and Modern Music of the Liceu Superior Conservatory of Music every Wednesday.

On this occasion, the concert will consist of two sets under the direction of Professor Sergi Vergés. In the first one, the Liceu Vocal Big Band will perform, a formation that incorporates advanced Voice students as soloists. The repertoire will include works by great arrangers written for voices, with a prominent presence of music from vocal groups like the New York Voices.

In the second part, it will be the turn of the Liceu Big Band, also directed by Sergi Vergés, one of the most renowned big band arrangers in the country. In this performance, the 4th-year students will interpret a high-quality repertoire, designed to enhance them as soloists. This formation has become an essential element of the city's jazz scene and is one of the few stable big bands of this kind in the country, offering its members a fully professional experience.
