This new SIMFONOVA concert, dedicated to the figure of Maria Callas, is not only made up of the operatic moments that most made the great soprano shine, but also aims to explain the reasons for her artistic uniqueness and, through her own words, the characteristics of a hard life that, while enabling the expressivity and power the singer conveyed from the stage, were also the cause of the vulnerable and insecure woman who always lay behind the scenes.
On this occasion, the script, prepared and presented on stage by communicator Marcel Gorgori, gives absolute prominence to the figure of Maria Callas herself in the show, who is portrayed by the great actress Montse Guallar, as she recounts her tragic life in first person and, at the same time, justifies each of the performances that make up the concert.
This time, three exceptional solo voices take on the operatic performances, rising to the challenge before them. They are the soprano Sara Bañeras, soprano Eugènia Montenegro, and mezzo-soprano Laura Vila. Once again, the Barcelona Filharmonia Orchestra and the Orfeó Vigatà, conducted by maestro and SIMFONOVA musical director Daniel Antolí, are a fundamental part of this show about the greatest legend in opera history: Maria Callas.
