Menopause and Desire. Ritual of transformation

The sexology workshop led by Sigrid Cervera brings back the already established format of the museum —with a first experiential part and a second part consisting of a museum tour— to address menopause from a transformative perspective.

During the first part, the workshop will address what the climacteric is and what the main physical, emotional, and sexual changes are during this stage, moving away from the deficit narrative to speak of transformation and connection with desire.

The second part will consist of a guided tour through the museum's galleries to analyze how art has represented —or made invisible— mature female sexuality throughout history. “Menopause is not an end, but a transition in which desire is transformed,” explains Cervera.

The activity is held in collaboration with Bijoux Indiscrets, a Spanish brand founded by women and specializing in women's intimate well-being. Attendees will receive a kit with products from their Sex au Naturel line, a tote bag, and support materials.
