Presentation of the book "Ciutat Vella Despareguda" by Daniel Venteo

Amics de La Rambla, Hotel Ramblas Internacional and the publishing house Efadós have the pleasure to invite you to the presentation of the new book "Disappeared Old City," by the historian Daniel Venteo, published by Efadós with the collaboration of the Barcelona City Hall.

The event will take place on Monday, April 14, 2025 at 7:00 p.m. at the hotel's cocktail bar.

Ciutat Vella, the birthplace of photography in the country, holds a rich heritage of images that portray the life of its neighborhoods and its people over time.

"Disappeared Old City" is a window to a not-so-distant past, a past that is often idealized with nostalgia but, as shown in these images, was not always better. The millennium heart of Barcelona, it has witnessed historically significant events that have always coexisted with the daily life of its residents.

Daniel Venteo's book takes us on a journey to the past through 175 images that allow us to recover the memory of a neighborhood to know and understand it better.
