On Tuesday, October 20 at 5 p.m., we invite you to the tour "From La Rambla to the America's Cup, the history of Barcelona's Port Vell."
Barcelona would not be what it is without its location on the Mediterranean coast. The Romans already took advantage of the natural port of the founding Barcino, and since then different cultures have benefited from the proximity to the sea. Since the Middle Ages, a port close to the city has gradually been built, changing its uses and users over time. We'll start from La Rambla, the streambed that carried fresh water to the sea when it rained heavily, and we'll rediscover the Drassanes, the customs house, Port Vell, Maremagnum, Palau de Mar... the ideal tour when the heat arrives and you want to smell the sea breeze.
