On Saturday, June 27 at 6:00 p.m. we invite you to the tour "La Rambla, cradle of BCN transport".
In 1875, the city's first tram line began operating with the route between La Boqueria, in the very heart of La Rambla, and Lesseps Square, in what was then the neighboring town of Gràcia.
Before and after that milestone, La Rambla has been the cradle of many ways of getting around the city. From freight carriages and horse-drawn coaches to the Liceu (and tourist carriages until recently), to the Gran Metro extension that will soon celebrate its 100th anniversary. Not forgetting the trolleybuses that rambled up and down, the disappeared "Fernando" station, and the many legends that collective transport has generated on La Rambla and its immediate surroundings. A tour to remember the past, dissect rumors, discover vestiges, and imagine the future of transportation along Barcelona's most emblematic boulevard.
