On Tuesday, June 23 at 10 a.m. we invite you to the "La Rambla, cradle of BCN transports" Route.
In 1875, the city's first tram line began operating, running between La Boqueria, in the heart of La Rambla, and Lesseps Square, then in the neighboring town of Gràcia.
Before and after that milestone, La Rambla has been the birthplace of many ways of getting around the city. From goods transport carriages and horse-drawn carriages to the Liceu (and even tourist carriages until recently), to the extension of the Gran Metro which will soon celebrate its 100th anniversary. Not to mention the trolleybuses that went up and down the Rambla, the now-disappeared "Fernando" station, and so many legends that public transport has generated along La Rambla and its immediate surroundings. A route to remember the past, dissect rumors, discover remnants, and imagine the future of transport on the most emblematic boulevard in Barcelona.
