Hospital Street and Sant Agustí Square fill up with stalls dedicated to the sale of honey and its derivatives, jams, herbs, and flowers.
Next Monday, May 11th, the stalls selling medicinal herbs, honey, and its derivatives will once again fill the Raval neighborhood with scents and colors.
The Sant Ponç Fair is one of the most popular and oldest fairs in the city. It has been celebrated since the Middle Ages and comes from the time when the healing power of medicinal herbs was discovered. It takes place in the spring because it is the best time to make the most of their properties.
The Fair has been held on Hospital Street since 1817, after having taken place at Sant Miquel Square, Sant Cugat del Rec Street, and around the Church of the Holy Cross.
