The chef's private collection can be seen next to the information point of the market.
Take advantage of your visit to the Market to see this curious collection gathered by the chef throughout his professional career.
The chef, born in Strasbourg in 1948, studied in Colmar and Ribeauvillé and worked with Alain Chapel in Lyon, with Georges Blanc in Burgundy, and with Gaston Lenôtre in Paris. Neichel has spent most of his professional life in Catalonia: first as director and head chef of El Bulli, where he earned the first Michelin star, and later in the restaurant that bears his name, in Pedralbes, which closed in 2015.
At El Bulli, he tried to modernize and reinvent some dishes, such as mussel soup with saffron. "In the 80s, journalists spoke very highly of me and that helped me on my way to Barcelona," Neichel said. He was one of the first chefs to also be the owner of the business and an entrepreneur. In addition, he was also a forerunner of the liquor, dessert, and cheese trolleys… And above all, of tasting menus.
