Els estunmen is an operatic project led by a group of film specialists that aims to explore and question the classic idea of masculinity through the figure of the hero, as well as to deconstruct the representations that tradition has built around this main character.
This project by Albet and Borràs seeks precisely to address this imagination: what ideology hides behind the figure of the hero? What patterns of masculinity does it perpetuate? Does the idea of the brave, masculine hero still hold influence?
Focusing on a group within the world of cinema that exemplifies or works-consciously and unconsciously-with the hero myth, stuntmen, also known as specialists, are professionals responsible for performing dangerous scenes in film shoots, such as car chases, falls, fights or jumps. The notion of danger here is key: the hero is the one who exposes himself, who takes risks, who tries to overcome the limits of his physical and spiritual condition.
