Until February 23, you can see at the Teatre Romea "La Gramàtica," a satire that pays homage to our relationship with the legacy that, according to Lázaro Carreter, constitutes our most solid heritage: language.
Let's imagine that one day, by accident, a conventional woman becomes an accomplished scholar of language and grammar overnight. How would this circumstance change her life? Would she see, as they say, her personal and professional horizons broadened or, on the contrary, would these new skills worry her about the marginalization from her environment?
At the same time, let's imagine a prestigious neuroscientist willing to subject the woman to an intensive process of linguistic deprogramming in the opposite direction to that performed by Doctor Higgins on the flower girl Eliza Doolitle in the famous work "Pygmalion" by Bernard Shaw. In this case, it would not be about refining the character verbally, but, conversely, about returning her to her primitive state of expressive limitation to prevent her from the social maladjustment disorders that originated after her inappropriate accident.
