Waterloo is a journey back in time, and has the desire to give voice to those who are no longer here. We open a box of cardboard full of old photos and childhood comes to our memory like a gulp. The photo is from April 7, 1974, the innocence of a happy family, like any other happy family. Kids running around the garden and the pond, discovering love and facing the first disappointments. Uncle Paco still had hair and Uncle Voro had just finished his third mixed drink of the day. How pretty cousin Lolín was, and how satisfied Carles seemed with his hand in his pocket. Who still remembers Grace Kelly and Piudeferro? Surely there were no lovers like Salgado and Amparito in Alzira. Oh, how young the parents were. And how delicious the paella was! So many happy memories, all contained in this photo. But who could have suspected what would happen during coffee time? Who will tell us the secrets and miseries that, as Tolstoy said, make each family unhappy in its own way?
Pasqual Alapont and Carles Alberola co-sign the script of this show, a sweet and delirious comedy that looks back on the past. With Carles Alberola as the sole performer, the show uses a box of old photographs to transport us to the landscapes of childhood, remember games, and relive discoveries. All, reliving the joys and sorrows of a family from the seventies.
