"When space transforms, perception does too." Penique Productions at the Gran Teatre del Liceu

Penique productions is an artistic project born at the University of Barcelona in 2007. After an initial period in Catalonia, it moved to Rio de Janeiro in 2008, where it carried out its activities until 202, when it settled again in Catalonia, Vilanova de Bellpuig.

The project, based on the creation of inflatable and ephemeral installations, seeks out spaces to appropriate and transform, offering a unique aesthetic experience. Starting from a specific location, a custom-made inflatable is built to occupy the space and engage with its architecture. The dialogue between the balloon, conceived specifically for each space, and the place that contains it, giving it its final shape, blurs the very idea of the artistic object.

On this occasion, Penique productions presents the installation Superexposició at the Gran Teatre del Liceu, an intervention that completely occupies the main hall. A huge orange inflatable fills the entire room, from the stalls to the ceiling and from the stage to the balconies. Expanded by air pressure, a single membrane covers the architecture and unifies its forms under the same texture and color. The hall's own warm light draws its expressions and reveals its distinctive architectural details.

The piece transforms the main hall of the Liceu into a new space for discovery. The hall ceases to be solely a place from which to watch a show, becoming itself the center of the experience. The audience is invited to walk through the new space created and to rediscover the architecture of the Liceu from an unprecedented perspective, in which the boundaries between content and container are blurred.
