Amics de La Rambla and the Setba Foundation are inaugurating the exhibition "Master Posters of La Rambla"
September 21st. 2026
This morning, the exhibition "Masterful Posters of La Rambla" was inaugurated with a small event attended by the participating artists.
The opening event featured speeches by Àlex Balletbó, president of Amics de La Rambla, Cristina Sampere, director of the Setba Foundation, Noelia Fita, coordinator of Turisme de Barcelona, and Albert Batlle, councilor of Ciutat Vella. Also in attendance were the Commissioner of the Pact for Ciutat Vella, Ivan Pera, district councilors of Ciutat Vella Esther Miralles and Alba Segura, jury member who selected the winning posters Santi Sallé, the illustrator Lluïsot, and the vice-presidents of Amics de La Rambla Ángel Díaz and Juanon Gaspart.
A very special exhibition
The exhibition features ten poster proposals created by artists with intellectual disabilities from ACUDAM, the Bogatell Occupational Center, the Condal Occupational Center, the Ave Maria Foundation, and the TEAS Foundation.
The works were developed within the framework of the sixth edition of Magistrals, the Setba Foundation's artistic training project for organizations in the disability sector, which this year was directed by the illustrator and cartoonist Lluïsot.
The exhibition is the result of a professional commission from Amics de La Rambla to the Setba Foundation, as part of the "Poster of La Rambla" campaign, to create a new tourist poster inspired by the renewed Rambla de Santa Mònica. Previous posters were created by Reskate Studio and Jordi Ferrándiz - Bestiola.
With this commission, Amics de La Rambla has placed its trust in the excellence, perspective, and creative capacity of the artists participating in the Magistrals project.
"Posters of La Rambla" advocates for a model of locally created tourist souvenirs, rooted in the identity of Barcelona and with artistic and social value.
During the creative process, Amics de La Rambla brought the participating artists closer to the history, heritage, and current reality of this iconic promenade. Through observation of the Rambla de Santa Mònica, the artists have reinterpreted its spaces, buildings, and symbols using urban drawing, composition, and color.
David Padín, creator of the winning poster
The proposal by David Padín, artist from the Condal Occupational Center, was selected as the winning poster for the "Poster of La Rambla" campaign.
The jury was made up of Xavi Masip, manager of Amics de La Rambla; Santi Sallés, urban sketcher, illustrator and graphic designer; and Cristina Sampere, artist and director of the Setba Foundation.
Artists ready to take on high-level commissions
For the Setba Foundation, this collaboration should serve as a precedent and help create new professional opportunities for artists with intellectual disabilities.
The Foundation advocates for administrations, companies, and cultural institutions to include these artists in their commissions, competitions, and programming, and for their proposals to be valued for their quality, uniqueness, and communicative ability.
In this regard, the Setba Foundation defends that an artist with an intellectual disability can undertake a high-visibility cultural and institutional commission, such as the creation of the poster for La Mercè.
The exhibition "Masterful Posters of La Rambla" will allow visitors to see both the winning proposal by David Padín and the posters created by the other participating artists.
The exhibition can be visited for free until October 25, 2026.
