From October 4 to 30, 2025, Amics de La Rambla offers 18 free routes to stroll and reconnect with La Rambla

(Re) discover La Rambla offers different routes that allow discovering aspects of the history of La Rambla and the city

“La Rambla photographed” is the new route presented for the La Rambla Festival - Festa del Roser

Following the success of previous editions of (Re) discover La Rambla - with fully booked slots for all routes -, Amics de La Rambla has prepared a new invitation for strolling with 18 free routes.

The routes, which require prior registration on the Amics de La Rambla website, aim to be an invitation to reconnect with La Rambla and discover aspects of its history that are often unknown.

New route: “La Rambla photographed”.

On the occasion of the La Rambla Festival - Festa del Roser, held from October 4 to 12, a new route is presented: “La Rambla photographed”.

La Rambla photographed proposes to walk along it following a century and a half of photographic footprints, emulating the masters of this profession who have left us a way of looking at it. The route will analyze the photographs, their technical, aesthetic, and narrative aspects. The photographs will be contextualized in their time to compare them with the present moment, and an attempt will be made to reproduce them today.

Ten different routes, ten ways to stroll

There are many ways to get to know La Rambla better. Each of the routes proposed by Amics de La Rambla offers a different view of La Rambla and the city.

On this occasion, routes that Amics de La Rambla has been offering for free for a long time are recovered to improve knowledge and appreciation of La Rambla.

The routes offered in this edition - all with prior registration on the Amics de La Rambla website from September 25:   (https://www.amicsdelarambla.cat/cat/re-descobreix-la-rambla/inici)- are: “La Mercè: the first seaside district of Barcelona”, “Illustrious Visitors to La Rambla”, “From La Rambla to the Port. The (Re) Discover La Rambla routes are part of the project "La Rambla, a new model of Urban Tourism" with which Amics de La Rambla wants to invite everyone to stroll. The project has the support of the Barcelona City Council and GetYourGuide. The routes are partially funded by the tourist tax.

Online routes also available

There are also three online routes available that can be done with the help of a mobile device: The facades of La Rambla, La Rambla from the cinema, and Characters of La Rambla.

These three routes are the ones that could be done in the Rambling that Amics de La Rambla organized last November 30. Since that day, they are available online for anyone who wants to tour La Rambla learning details of its history.

The three routes offer a walk-game through La Rambla with questions and can be done alone or in a group:

The facades of La Rambla

Travel along the city's most emblematic avenue, from Plaça de Catalunya to Port Vell, to enjoy an open-air museum. You just need to open your eyes, discover the curiosities presented by some of the most unique facades of La Rambla, and uncover the secrets they hide. The clues lead to buildings like the Royal Academy of Sciences and Arts of Barcelona or the Casa dels Paraigües.

La Rambla from the cinema

It is a cinematic journey through the most famous scenes of this street. Discover old cinemas that witnessed big premieres, hotels where Hollywood actors stayed, and locations of movies shot on La Rambla. Learn anecdotes and stories that have made this walk a true movie set.

Characters of La Rambla

It is a route to discover the most iconic characters and artists who have passed through La Rambla and have marked the history of the street. Pass by the Gran Teatre del Liceu, Palau Güell, or Plaça Reial, where the history of poets, musicians, and actors who have left their mark between squares and streets will be told.

The Rambling online routes are available on the Amics de La Rambla website

(https://www.amicsdelarambla.cat/cat/rambling/rambling) and have the technological support of the Identify app.
