Amics de La Rambla renews the Biosphere certification

One more year, Amics de La Rambla has renewed the Biosphere certification within the Biosphere Sustainable Commitment, which recognizes good practices in sustainable management for tourism and service companies. Amics de La Rambla has been renewing its certification since 2019.
A total of 613 entities in the city of Barcelona, among them Amics de La Rambla and 24 companies or institutions associated with our organization, have obtained the seal that certifies their commitment to environmentally friendly management, as well as respect for culture and for the social and economic returns of the city.
At the Destination Barcelona level, which includes the city and 12 counties in the province, a total of 1,198 companies and entities have been certified with the Commitment to Sustainable Tourism Destination Barcelona Biosphere. The project, promoted by the Barcelona City Council, the Barcelona Chamber of Commerce, the Barcelona Provincial Council and Turisme de Barcelona, aims to advance the sustainability of tourism and the sector, in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) set out in the United Nations' 2030 Agenda. In other words, the commitment addresses both the desire to promote more mindful tourism by tour operators and the wishes of visitors to travel in a way that is as respectful as possible of the environment.
Besides Amics de La Rambla, this year the following have also obtained the certification: Aspasios Short Rentals, Enjoy Bcn, Hotel Arc La Rambla, Hotel 1898, Hotel Bagués, Hotel La Pau, Moka Restaurant, Hotel Le Meridien, Gran Teatre del Liceu, Hotel España, Tablao Flamenco Cordobés, Palau Güell, Hostel Kabul, Restaurant Núria, Yurbban Ramblas Boutique Hotel, Barcelona Hotel Guild, the Barcelona Aquarium, Hostal Mare Nostrum, Soho House Barcelona, Hotel Duquesa de Cardona, the Barcelona Wax Museum, The 19th Hole Barcelona, Hotel Royal Ramblas, and La Mallorquina.
