Barcelona will turn yellow to celebrate the countdown of 100 days to the Grand Départ of the 2026 Tour de France

Barcelona kicks off this Thursday the final countdown to the Grand Départ of the 2026 Tour de France. To commemorate exactly 100 days until the start of the world's most prestigious cycling race, the Catalan capital has prepared a symbolic action with great visual impact and a festive day open to all citizens.
The 100 Days Celebration at Passeig Lluís Companys
The epicenter of the celebration will be Passeig Lluís Companys, which from 5:00 pm will host the 100 Days Celebration. The event will begin with a range of bike-related activities geared towards families, lasting until 7:00 pm.
At 7:30 pm, the official ceremony will start, hosted by Judit Mascó and Jordi Basté, featuring a performance by Musicals' Choir and a tribute to the city's cycling clubs, key figures in Barcelona's sporting tradition. As a grand finale, the countdown will begin, around seventy spaces and buildings in Barcelona will be illuminated, and the band Doctor Prats will offer a small concert where they will premiere the official song of the Tour de France 2026 start: Energia!.
A city bathed in yellow
Barcelona will be visually transformed thanks to the simultaneous lighting of buildings and venues. Among the spaces that will shine yellow in our neighborhood are the façade of Barcelona City Hall, the façade of the Government of Catalonia, the Arc de Triomf, the Palau de la Virreina, Hotel Le Meridien Barcelona, and the Ciutat Vella District headquarters.
Water will also play a starring role in this celebration with a burst of color in numerous fountains throughout the city. In our neighborhood, the Twin Fountains in Plaça Catalunya, the fountain at Plaça de la Mercè, and the fountain at Plaça Reial.
With these actions, Barcelona wants to invite everyone to take part in the lead-up to one of the world's most followed sporting events.
