Call for participation in the collective action "Architecture Shop Windows" on the occasion of World Architecture Day 2026

On the occasion of World Architecture Day and as part of Barcelona 2026, World Capital of Architecture, we want to turn Barcelona into a large, temporary exhibition of architectural models distributed among all those shops in the city that wish to participate.

The proposal consists of inviting the city's shops to host, for one week, models provided by architecture firms and architects from Barcelona.

The objective is to bring architecture closer to the public through local businesses, transforming shop windows or counters into temporary small exhibition spaces hosting an architectural model. For architecture firms and architects, it is an important way to connect with local residents, gain visibility, and showcase their work.

This initiative unites two exceptional celebrations: the World Capital of Architecture Barcelona 2026 and the European Capital of Local Commerce.

When will it take place?

World Architecture Day is celebrated on Monday, October 5, 2026.
To give the initiative greater visibility, the models will be exhibited for an entire week, from Saturday, October 3 to Saturday, October 10.
The delivery and collection of the models will take place before and after these dates.

Who can participate?

Shops Modality

Any shop in the municipality of Barcelona that has a visible (from the street) and suitable space to host a model can participate.
Final participation will depend on:
the number of models provided by architecture firms and architects and their suitability for the available spaces.
