Christmas fir tree collection points

The City Council will install dozens of collection points, distributed throughout the 10 districts of the city, for the collection of Christmas trees and other plant ornaments, which will be operational from January 7 to 17, 2026.
On La Rambla, you will find a collection point in front of ELISAVA. You can also bring your trees to Plaça Catalunya with Portal de l'Àngel and Plaça Vila de Madrid.
After January 17, the trees will be shredded and the remains will be left to mature. The final destination of these will be mulching, which serves to improve moisture retention and soil aeration, while also being a natural solution for weed growth.
Before taking them to the collection points, remove all the tree decorations so that it can be recycled as plant fraction and obtain compost from it.
