Discover the Renaissance of a Modernist Icon in the Heart of Barcelona. Hotel España is being renovated.
June 25th. 2025
The Hotel España, an iconic modernist hotel in Barcelona, designed by Lluís Domènech i Montaner, is being revitalized to offer a more contemporary experience, without losing its historical essence.
Under the direction of the acclaimed interior designer Lázaro Rosa Violán, each space will be redesigned to highlight the unique details of Catalan modernism, merging them with current elements that will make your stay an unforgettable journey between the past and present of the city.
Each corner, from common areas to rooms, will be carefully rethought to preserve the historical essence while incorporating elements that ensure a memorable, modern, and comfortable experience for our guests.
The refurbishment will affect the Fonda Espanya Restaurant which will be closed from July 1, 2025 until March 2026. However, the Hotel will continue to offer its restaurant service on the Alaire Ramblas terrace.
The ALAIRE RAMBLAS terrace, located on the top floor of the Hotel, is the ideal space to enjoy summer, with a contemporary, current, and elegant decoration that invites conversation and relaxation.
Schedule:
Open every day from 11:00 a.m. to 00:30 a.m.
