Friends of La Rambla offers routes again to (Re)discover La Rambla
November 24th. 2025
From 3 December 2025 to 3 January 2026, Friends of La Rambla offers 12 free routes to stroll and rediscover La Rambla
(Re)discover La Rambla offers different routes that allow you to discover aspects of La Rambla's history and the city
This time there are two new routes: "X-ray of Plaça de Catalunya" and "Barcelona in Flames: La Rambla"
After the success of previous editions of (Re)discover La Rambla - with all spots filled for all routes -, Friends of La Rambla has prepared a new invitation to stroll with 12 free routes.
The routes, which require prior registration on the Friends of La Rambla website, aim to be an invitation to rediscover La Rambla and to discover aspects of its history that are often unknown.
New routes: "X-ray of Plaça de Catalunya" and "Barcelona in Flames: La Rambla"
As in previous editions, Friends of La Rambla takes the opportunity to introduce new routes. "X-ray of Plaça de Catalunya" is a journey through the history, changes, and heritage of Plaça de Catalunya. The second route presented, "Barcelona in Flames," shows how major accidental fires have transformed La Rambla and its surroundings.
Eight different routes, eight ways to stroll
There are many ways to get to know La Rambla better. Each of the routes proposed by Friends of La Rambla offers a different perspective of La Rambla and the city.
This time, routes that Friends of La Rambla has been offering for free for a long time to enhance knowledge and love towards La Rambla are reintroduced.
The routes offered in this edition - all with prior registration on the Friends of La Rambla website starting on 24 November: (https://www.amicsdelarambla.cat/cat/re-descobreix-la-rambla/inici) - are: "La Rambla in Feminine," "Photographed La Rambla," "Barcelona in Flames: La Rambla," "La Rambla, cradle of Barcelona's transports," "Darker La Rambla. Online routes also available
There are also three online routes available that can be done with the help of a mobile device: The Façades of La Rambla, La Rambla of Cinema, and Characters of La Rambla.
These three routes were done during the Rambling event that Friends of La Rambla organized on 30 November 2024. Since that day, they have been available online for anyone who wants to explore La Rambla while learning details of its history.
The three routes offer a game-like stroll through La Rambla with questions and can be done individually or in a group:
The Façades of La Rambla
Explore the city's most iconic avenue, from Plaça de Catalunya to Port Vell, to enjoy an open-air museum. You just need to look around, find the curiosities presented by some of La Rambla's most unique facades, and discover the secrets they hold. Clues lead to buildings like the Royal Academy of Sciences and Arts of Barcelona or the Casa dels Paraigües.
La Rambla of Cinema
It is a cinematic journey through the most famous stages of this street. Discover former cinemas that witnessed major premieres, hotels where Hollywood actors stayed, and filming locations of movies shot on La Rambla. Learn anecdotes and stories that have turned this promenade into a real movie set.
Characters of La Rambla
It is a route to discover the most iconic characters and artists who have passed through La Rambla and have left their mark on the street's history. Passing by the Gran Teatre del Liceu, Palau Güell, or Plaça Reial, where the stories of poets, musicians, and actors who have left their mark on squares and streets will be told.
The online routes of Rambling are available on the Friends of La Rambla website
(https://www.amicsdelarambla.cat/cat/rambling/rambling) and have the technological support of the Identify app.
Soon, we will announce a new edition of Rambling with new routes.
