The Festes de Santa Eulàlia are already here! From 7 to 12 February, Barcelona celebrates the winter festival again, surrounded by the warmth of the citizens who enjoy the festivities of the patron saint and transform the winter cold into the warmth of the celebration.
On La Rambla!
Despite the construction work, La Rambla remains one of the main points of the Festival.
Exhibition of Les Laies, the giants. From 1 to 12 February from 10 am to 8 pm at the Palau de la Virreina (La Rambla, 99)
The giants of Ciutat Vella are exhibited at the Palau de la Virreina days before going out for a walk!
You will find the giantess Laia, the little giants Gal·la de la Plaça Nova, Elisenda petita del Pi, Quimeta del Raval, and Carmeta de la Barceloneta, as well as the giants Laia de la Plaça Nova, Elisenda and Laia del Pi, Marieta de l'Ull Viu and Cati del Casc Antic, Reina de Saba de Santa Maria del Mar, Lola del Raval, Maria la Neta de la Barceloneta, Constança and Isabel de Sant Pere de les Puel·les, Mercè de Sant Jaume, Laia Espir del carrer del Vallespir, Rodanxona and Borda de la Casa de la Caritat and Violant d'Hongria de la Ciutat.
On Wednesday, 12 February, the day of Santa Eulàlia, you can see them dance together in the dark of the night at La Passejada de les Laies.

The drummers of the devil and fire beasts groups will gather to celebrate the great drumming of the festivities! The thunderous sounds of the drums will evoke the heartbeats of Santa Eulàlia!
Enjoy the rhythm and sound of the celebration through the streets of the Gothic Quarter!

Fireworks, sparks, and smoke! The children's devil and fire beasts groups will turn the city streets into an infernal space. Santa Eulàlia is the festival of the youngest ones and when it gets dark, they will come out of the doors of the City Hall to prove it!
Route: Plaça Sant Jaume, Carrer de Ferran, La Rambla, Carrer de Colom, and Plaça Reial (ending around 7.00 pm).

For Santa Eulàlia, the fire festival will activate your senses with the sound of drums, the smell of gunpowder, and the light of the sparks. After the correfoc of the little devils and small beasts, the adult beasts and devils will gather at Plaça Reial, from where they will light up the city with fire until Plaça de Sant Jaume.
The Drac de la Ciutat Vella, the Víbria de Barcelona, the Tarasca de Barcelona, the Mulassa de Barcelona, the Bou de Barcelona, the Arpella del Barri Gòtic, and the Dofi del Casc Antic will fill the streets with fire along with the Diables de la Kinta Forka, those of the Gothic Quarter and the Tarascaires.
The correfoc will end with a fireworks and thunders spectacle that will leave the audience at Plaça de Sant Jaume astonished and will lead to the concert and the subsequent night of celebration.

Parade of the Giantess Laia. Wednesday, 12 February at 9:30 am at Palau de la Virreina
Santa Eulàlia's day starts with the departure of the giantess Laia. Accompanied by the sweet sound of the flute, she will walk through the streets of the Gothic Quarter towards Plaça de Sant Jaume. Before arriving, she will make a stop at the store of Santa Eulàlia, the place where the legend says that the saint suffered one of the thirteen tortures. There, under the gaze of the image of Santa Eulàlia, she will offer a dance to the rhythm of her classic melody.

La Passejada de les Laies, floral tribute to the descent of Santa Eulàlia and the Ball de Santa Eulàlia. Wednesday, 12 February at 6:30 pm at Palau de la Virreina
On Santa Eulàlia's day, all the giants of Ciutat Vella change their names to "Laia" to celebrate one of the oldest and most emotional acts of the festivities. The gates of Palau de la Virreina will open to let the Laies out, who will leave dancing towards Plaça de Sant Josep Oriol.

7.30 pm: Passejada de les Laies
After a while standing in the darkness of the night and the magical light of the square, a parade led by the giantess Laia will begin, with the giants walking to Plaça de Sant Jaume. Before that, they will make a stop at the descent of Santa Eulàlia, in front of the chapel of the saint, where a floral offering will be made and the giants of Plaça Nova will offer the dance of Santa Eulàlia.
When the procession reaches Plaça de Sant Jaume, the giants will parade under the gaze of Santa Eulàlia's banner placed on the balcony of the City Hall; the giantess Laia will dance her short dance and, again, the giants of Plaça Nova will perform their dance, but this time the long version played by the Cobla Sant Jordi - Ciutat de Barcelona, and in the final round, all the giants will join in to offer a unique and special image only seen on this occasion, in honor of the patron saint.
Finally, a fireworks castle will bid farewell to the Festes de Santa Eulàlia until next year.

A festive start at Plaça de Sant Jaume
The first activities will take place on Friday, February 7 at Plaça de Sant Jaume. At 6.30 pm, the municipal music schools will offer a varied repertoire with performances by the Combo Miles Davis (EMM Sant Andreu), the Combo Quincy Jones (EMM Sant Andreu), the Banda Jazz Latin (EMM Eixample), and the Big Band (EMM Eixample). Subsequently, at 8:00 pm, it will be the turn of the iconic Protocols of l'Àliga, with a solemn procession led by l'Àliga de la Ciutat, accompanied by the Coronela de Barcelona, the Lleó de Barcelona and the giants of Santa Maria del Mar. The route will end at the Basilica de Santa Maria del Mar, where, at 9 pm, the traditional Ball de l'Àliga will take place.
Simultaneously, the Fossar de les Moreres will be the scene of the Ruta Eulalienca, with groups of registered participants exploring the history of the patron saint guided. The day will end with concerts by Tradicionàrius, with La Sonsoni at 8.15 pm and Germà Negre at 9.30 pm.
Dances, giants, fire, and singing
Saturday, February 8 will be a busy day with activities starting in the morning. At 10 am, Plaça de Sant Jaume will be the meeting point for the Colles Bastoneres, who will parade to Plaça Nova. At the same time, the Trobada Sardanista Infantil with the Cobla Contemporània will begin. There will also be the Cercavila de Gegants d'Escola at 11.00 am, from Plaça Comercial to Plaça de Sant Jaume. In the afternoon, the Cercavila de Gegants Infantils will start at 4.00 pm, and the youngest ones will also enjoy the Correfoc Infantil, which will start at Plaça de Sant Miquel at 6.30 pm.
At night, the Correfoc de Santa Eulàlia will light up the city streets, starting from Plaça Reial at 8.00 pm and ending with a fireworks show at 8.45 pm at Plaça Sant Jaume. Subsequently, at the same square, at 9.15 pm, the enigmatic Catalan music producer Lo Puto Cat will perform. This performance is part of the farewell tour of this well-known producer for his original and innovative style, which combines different genres such as trap, electronic music, hip-hop, and traditional Catalan sounds. With a charismatic personality, a strong presence on social networks, and an irreverent sense of humor, he has become a reference within the Catalan music scene... Meanwhile, Avinguda de la Catedral will host traditional dance performances and concerts like CLAVÉ Clàssics at 10.00 pm.
Casteller Day, Santa Eulàlia Procession, and Parade of the 650 years of l'Àliga de la Ciutat
The Casteller Day of Santa Eulàlia will be the highlight activity on Sunday 9 in the morning, with the participation of the casteller groups that will perform at Plaça de Sant Jaume from 11.30 am. The day will also include parades of giants, falcons, esbarts, and the final sardana dance, in addition to the casteller groups of Castellers de Barcelona, Colla Castellera de l'Esquerra de l'Eixample, Colla Castellera Jove de Barcelona, Castellers del Poble sec, Castellers de la Sagrada Família, Castellers de Sants, Castellers de Sarrià, and Castellers de la Vila de Gràcia. Simultaneously, at 12.30 pm at Baixada de Santa Eulàlia, the Seguici de Santa Eulàlia will perform the Ball de Santa Eulàlia with the Gegants Nous of Plaça Nova and the floral offering.
In the afternoon, Barcelona will celebrate the 650 years of l'Àliga de la Ciutat (or more!) with a special parade through the streets of the Gothic Quarter. Along with this emblematic figure, the Àliga de la Vila de Gràcia and the Colomí de Sant Andreu will parade to join the commemoration. The celebration will start on Sunday 9 February at 5.00 pm at Palau de la Virreina, from where the three birds will walk the streets to the Cathedral. There, the Àliga de la Ciutat will offer its characteristic dance, while at Plaça de Garriga i Bachs, the Àliga de Gràcia will also dance, and on Carrer Ciutat, the Colomí de Sant Andreu will perform its display dance. The event will end at Plaça de Sant Jaume at 7.00 pm with a final joint dance, where the three figures will showcase their best dances to commemorate the anniversary. Subsequently, at 7.30 pm, the Banda Simfònica Roquetes-Nou Barris de Barcelona will offer its concert Una Santa Eulàlia de cine.
Solemn closure of Santa Eulàlia's festival
The festivals will come to an end on Wednesday 12 February with the placement of the banner of Santa Eulàlia at 10.15 am at Plaça de Sant Jaume and, at 6.00 pm, with the carillon concert of the Palau de la Generalitat followed by the sardana dance with the Cobla Sant Jordi - Ciutat de Barcelona. Ultimately, at 7.30 pm, the closure of the festival will be led from Palau de la Virreina by La Passejada de les Laies, a parade featuring giants, culminating with the Ball de Santa Eulàlia and a pyrotechnic show at Plaça de Sant Jaume at 8.25 pm.
And as is tradition, many of the city's facilities will offer open doors during the Winter Festival of the city, such as the Barcelona City Hall, which can be visited on Saturday 8 February from 10.00 am to 8.00 pm, as well as different museums in the city.
