Taste on La Rambla 2025: from 8 to 11 May at Plaça de Catalunya

April 28th. 2025

This year, the Tast a La Rambla will once again fill Barcelona's heart with flavor, and it will do so on different dates: from May 8 to 11. In its eleventh edition, and established as the city's great annual gastronomy event, the Tast a La Rambla reaffirms the commitment to bringing the best of Barcelona's gastronomy to neighbors and visitors, reclaiming the public space in the city center as a meeting point and celebration of good food.

Thirty-two restaurants will participate in this year's Tast a La Rambla - awarded a total of 4 Michelin stars and 8 Repsol Suns - along with 6 bakeries. They will all offer their best gastronomic offerings in tapas format for 6 tokens (6 euros).

Once again, due to the renovation works on La Rambla, the event will take place at Plaça de Catalunya.

Barcelona on a Plate: 32 restaurants, 6 bakeries, and a wide range of complementary offerings.

The event revolves around gastronomy, as well as the values that currently best represent it: sustainability, environmental respect, and proximity.

These three concepts will be the protagonists of all tastings and culinary experiences during this 11th edition, reaffirming Tast a La Rambla's commitment to a conscious cuisine made with local products.

The gastronomic route will focus on a large central area, where the 32 participating Barcelona restaurants will be located, and in parallel, a prominent area will host the 6 bakeries with their sweet proposals.

All of them, except for one, are establishments with their own identity that reflect the culinary diversity of Barcelona and bring the latest trends in gourmet cuisine to citizens and tourists.

The exception - and novelty this year - comes from the Art, Culture, and Tourism Centers of Lanzarote, present at this central dining area with a tapa proposed by the restaurant at the Castell de San José (Arrecife).

Special Tastings and 3D Experience

Tast a La Rambla completes its global dining offer thanks to the commitment and support of renowned firms and collaborating entities that add value to the gastronomic proposal with special tastings for all types of audiences.

The official sponsor, Estrella Damm, will provide attendees with the best beer at the fair and will be in charge of the entire beverage proposal. On the other hand, Aperol Spritz & Crodino, collaborators of Tast a La Rambla, will develop various options for vermouth and aperitifs, with and without alcohol, to be enjoyed at any time of the day.

Coinciding with Catalonia being designated as the World Region of Gastronomy 2025, the Generalitat de Catalonia will once again be present at Tast a La Rambla through Prodeca (promoter of Catalan agri-food products), with the participation of 10 local wineries, a milestone that represents the largest display of wines from the region to date at this Barcelona event.

Also as sponsors, the Art, Culture, and Tourism Centers of Lanzarote will have a stand divided into two areas: a tasting bar of cheeses from the island and wines with Lanzarote Designation of Origin; as well as a space where visitors can experience a virtual reality (3D) tour inside the Tubo Volcánico de La Corona, one of Lanzarote's natural treasures.

Lastly, it is worth noting that Makro will once again be the official provider of culinary excellence.

Workshops and Showcookings

Tast a La Rambla will once again feature two showcooking spaces offering cooking demonstrations and tasting workshops open to the public free of charge.

True to its commitment to identities in gastronomy, in Showcooking space 1, Tast a La Rambla will host - beyond the city's gastronomy - cuisines bearing the stamp of other territories in Spain. Specifically, in this 11th edition, a gastronomic journey through 4 different territories will be proposed through specific showcooking sessions.

Thus, on the first day of the Tast, Thursday, May 8, the Valencia Region will offer a showcooking day led by a teaching team from the Network of Tourism Centers in the Valencian Community.

On Friday, May 9, the showcooking area will focus on the cuisine of Murcia with 1.001 Sabores Región de Murcia, featuring culinary demonstrations by Pedro Buitrago and María José Pagán from the Tándem restaurant (Murcia).

Under the auspices of Catalonia as the World Region of Gastronomy 2025, on Saturday, May 10, Catalan gastronomy will take center stage with an educational day around its agri-food products - such as wines or oils with PDO - and its culinary tradition, by renowned sommeliers and chefs from the region.

And on Sunday, May 11, it will be the turn of Raíz Culinaria Castilla-La Mancha, with a gastronomic show where the 5 provinces - Cuenca, Guadalajara, Toledo, Ciudad Real, and Albacete - will shine.

Gastronomy in Action

Showcooking space 2 will feature some of the collaborating brands and a selection of Barcelona chefs who will share recipes under the slogan "The proximity of the product." This area will host a variety of activities designed to bring the secrets of gastronomy closer to both enthusiasts and experts, with themes ranging from traditional Catalan cuisine to international proposals, culinary innovation, and creative pastry, among many others.

Music and Gastronomy

Music will also be present with a varied program of live performances accompanying each day of the Tast a La Rambla. The proposal includes concerts by local artists, thematic sessions with a variety of musical styles, and options for all audiences, at different times of day.

This year, the performance by Tablao Flamenco Cordobés stands out on the occasion of its 55th anniversary.

The gastronomic experience is once again presented with ample rest areas, high tables, and a festive atmosphere that invites you to enjoy spring in Barcelona with the best current gastronomic representation.

The charitable initiative of the event is once again evident in the collaboration of Tast a La Rambla with the Casal dels Infants. Likewise, the fair remains involved in training new generations of professionals in the restaurant sector with the participation of CETT in the operation of the 11th Barcelona Gastronomy Week.

Carles Gaig receives the II "Tast a La Rambla" Award

Tast a La Rambla reaffirms its commitment to local gastronomy with the second edition of the "Tast a La Rambla" Award, an accolade that was established last year with the aim of recognizing the passion and dedication of those who work in and for gastronomy. A tribute to all those individuals who, with their daily dedication, make cooking a true social and cultural meeting point.

In this edition, the recognition goes to Carles Gaig, a reference figure in Catalan cuisine with a trajectory marked by a balance between tradition and innovation. Gaig has managed to keep alive the family culinary legacy, initiated at the family restaurant founded in 1869, and elevate it to haute cuisine. His eponymous restaurant obtained a Michelin star in 1993 and has since been a benchmark of Catalan cuisine, with emblematic dishes such as truffled cannelloni or veal fricandó.

In addition to his work leading the kitchen, Carles Gaig has been a promoter of Catalan cuisine both inside and outside the country, with projects in Barcelona, Singapore, and Andorra.
