The 12th edition of Tast a La Rambla consolidates its commitment to gastronomic quality with more than 152,000 tastings sold
June 1st. 2026
400,000 people attended the fair that turned Plaça de Catalunya into the gastronomic center of Barcelona.
Dani García's burger (Leña) is crowned as the best-selling tapa at Tast a La Rambla 2026.
During its twelfth edition, which concluded on Sunday, May 31, Tast a La Rambla strengthened its commitment to the quality of its gastronomic offerings, with a positive response from the people of Barcelona who, despite the heat of these past days, did not hesitate to come downtown to enjoy the best cuisine in Barcelona.
With 152,320 tastings sold, Tast a La Rambla consolidates the trend of recent editions and reaffirms itself as the undisputed benchmark among the gastronomic fairs of Barcelona.
According to Jordi Parra (director of the gsr group), these figures, "validate the effort that both the organization and the participating establishments and chefs have made this year to show that the cuisine of Barcelona is not only a successful cuisine, but also a perfect ten."
Plaça de Catalunya has once again become - for the last year, since in 2027, after the works on La Rambla are completed, the fair will return to its usual location - the largest and most attractive open-air kitchen in the whole city. With the presence of 30 reference restaurants and 6 pastry shops from Barcelona, Tast a La Rambla has managed to convince both locals and foreigners to join this unique gastronomic celebration, which has attracted 400,000 people.
These figures match the turnout of the last edition and have been very positively valued by Àlex Balletbó, president of Amics de La Rambla, who wanted to "thank the city for its trust in the event"; and was also happy to say, "next year we await you all again at home, on La Rambla." Among all the great tapas offered this year, the one that convinced the visiting public the most was Dani García's personal vision of the hamburger at his Barcelona 'Leña' with his "La burger that gave meaning to everything," which has become the best-selling tapa of this 12th edition of Tast a la Rambla.
Following were the offerings from 'La Mafia Mexicana' and 'Família Nuri', which ranked second and third, respectively. The Mexican restaurant was present at Tast a La Rambla with its "Quesabirria," while Família Nuri, a regular at the fair, made a comeback with one of their rice dishes, on this occasion a 'Chicken and prawn rice with citrus mayonnaise.' But apart from this podium with the most chosen options by the attending public, the quality of both the savory and sweet gastronomic proposals of this twelfth edition of Tast a la Rambla has been very high. A quality in line with the commitment to excellence, sustainability, and local products that defines the event's philosophy. This has also been reflected this year in the presence at Tast a La Rambla 2026 of 13 Michelin stars and 18 Repsol Suns.
Tast a la Rambla, much more than tapas
After four intense days, from Thursday the 28th to Sunday the 31st of May, the great reception of the XII Barcelona Gastronomic Week - organized by Amics de La Rambla and group gsr - confirms that the people of Barcelona value a quality offer that allows for the democratization and popularization of the city's excellent cuisine. Proof of this is not only the number of tastings sold, but also the high attendance at the various parallel activities organized as part of the fair. All events reached full capacity every day: activities in the format of masterclasses, show-cookings, or tastings of wine, cava, or other gastronomic products, allowing the public to learn directly from some of the most relevant names on the national food and wine scene, like Mateu Casañas, Oriol Castro, Eduard Xatruch and Nil Dulcet (Disfrutar***), Fran Agudo (MontBar**), Jordi Artal (Cinc Sentits**), Albert Raurich (Dos Palillos*), Ferran Centelles (sommelier, elBulli Foundation) or Rafa Zafra (Estimar). There were over thirty activities, allowing participants to discover, among other things, the great diversity of Catalan wines with INCAVI; the volcanic cuisine of Lanzarote (Saborea Lanzarote); some of the most representative recipes from Castilla La Mancha with Raíz Culinaria; mountain products with Andorra, High Mountain Gastronomy; or the world of bluefin tuna with Balfegó. The Tast a La Rambla experience has transcended the purely gastronomic sphere to become a Barcelona festival for Barcelonans, in which cuisine was joined by various live music performances that livened up the four days of Tast a La Rambla.
