The Erotic Museum of Barcelona (MEB), among the top 10% of the world's most valued attractions according to Tripadvisor

July 29th. 2025

The MEB receives the Traveller's Choice Awards for the third consecutive year in 2025 and celebrates it in August with new rooms, erotic shows, and the classic orgasm contest for International Female Orgasm Day

The Erotic Museum of Barcelona (MEB) has been recognized, for the third consecutive year, with the prestigious Traveller's Choice Awards 2025 awarded by Tripadvisor. This award places the museum among the top 10% of the best-rated tourist attractions on the planet, based on the opinions and ratings of millions of visitors.

"This award reflects not only the international interest in the MEB but also the affection and recognition of all the people who visit us. It is an immense joy for the entire team," declares Sarah Rippert, director of the MEB

August of celebrations: shows, new rooms, and the Orgasm Contest

To celebrate this, the museum presents a special program during the month of August that includes a new edition of the Orgasm Contest "When Harry Met Sally," live thematic shows, guided tours within a wide range of tours, and two new exhibition rooms that expand the historical, artistic, and social perspective on sexuality.

New exhibition rooms

The MEB continues its expansion as a cultural reference center with the recent opening of two new rooms:

- "The Vulva, the Vagina, and the Clitoris in art": a visual journey through the representation of female genitals in different cultures and periods, with works by artists such as Jamie McCartney ("75 Women") and Patricia Bonfante ("VDoor Project"). It includes the exhibition "The Conscience of the Clitoris," which features an impressive sculpture of a one-meter clitoris.

- "Non-monogamies and the swinger world": a room that explores relationship forms throughout history beyond traditional monogamy, structured into three blocks: "Polygamy: polygyny and polyandry," "Ethical non-monogamies," and "Swinger culture and open relationships."

These rooms are added to other recently opened spaces such as the room dedicated to "Sex in medieval Europe and the history of the Catalan Kamasutra" or the one dedicated to "The history of diversity and the LGBTQIA+ universe," consolidating the museum as an institution in constant renewal and open to all audiences.

A museum committed to inclusion

In line with its commitment to diversity, the MEB has received this year the international Queer Destinations Committed seal, accrediting it as a safe, inclusive space free from discrimination towards LGBTQIA+ individuals. This recognition involves comprehensive training for the entire team on the realities and sensitivities of the community, ensuring a respectful, empathetic, and quality experience.

August 8: International Female Orgasm Day at the MEB

On August 8, the museum will celebrate International Female Orgasm Day with a new edition of the famous Orgasm Contest "When Harry Met Sally." Between 3:00 pm and 7:00 pm, all visitors who wish to participate can imitate, every hour on the hour, their best version of Meg Ryan's iconic orgasm in the movie. The winner of each round will receive an exclusive "MEB Orgasmic Kit."
