The Erotic Museum of Barcelona (MEB) inaugurates a new room this summer dedicated to "Non-Monogamies and Swinger World"

The Barcelona Erotic Museum (BEM) will open the new "Non-Monogamies and Swinger World" room on July 21 at 7:00 p.m.

This is a new space that explores the history of non-monogamies, from so-called free love and polyamory to shared experiences as a couple within the so-called liberal world.

"The 'Non-Monogamies and Swinger World' room offers an innovative journey through the different forms of non-monogamy present in various cultures and periods," explains Sarah Rippert, director of the Barcelona Erotic Museum (BEM). "From Chinese dynasties or the Ottoman Empire to current communities of swingers and relational anarchists, the exhibition offers a broad, contextualized, and unbiased view," she adds. Its commitment to innovation is being recognized by visitors who rank the BEM as the second favorite museum in Barcelona for travelers, according to TripAdvisor.

A different proposal

Rippert, director of BEM, has been the precursor of this original space featuring illustrations and photographs, among others. To materialize her proposal, she has collaborated with Ginger, a mentor and specialized advisor in open relationships and relational well-being, on one side, and with the liberal club Uhomo Barcelona, on the other. The interior of the club can be seen in a video in the exhibition.

Ginger, who is responsible for the research, curation, and writing of the contents of this room, will offer as an external collaborator the Tour "Open Relationships, Polyamory, and More: a history that also deserves to be discovered." The mentor will lead a tour that culminates in this room dedicated to non-monogamy and the swinger world. Ginger states that "the goal is to awaken questions, debunk myths, and offer real insights into how people connect today beyond the traditional model of a couple." Ginger offers the option of a guided visit to the liberal club Uhomo Barcelona as part of the tour, an informative and respectful visit recommended for those who wish to explore these spaces in a safe environment with expert guidance.
