The Tablao Flamenco Cordobés has been recognized as the Best flamenco tablao in the world in the tenth edition of the 'Silverio Franconetti' International Flamenco Awards, organized by the Flamenco School of Andalusia (EFA).
"This award not only recognizes our history, but also the effort of all the artists, the team and the audience that accompanies us night after night. This award is also yours," stated María Rosa Pérez Adame, second generation of the family that still runs the historic tablao on La Rambla, which this year celebrates its 55th anniversary with an extraordinary program featuring artists like Jesús Carmona, Alfonso Losa, José Maya, and Karime Amaya, among others.
The award ceremony will take place on November 16th at the Cadiz Congress Palace, coinciding with the World Day of Flamenco and the 15th anniversary of its declaration as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO. This prestigious award reaffirms the position of Tablao Flamenco Cordobés as an international reference in flamenco.
In this edition, legendary figures such as Aurora Vargas, El Pele, Pepa Montes, Gerardo Núñez, Manolo Marín, and Lucía Beltrán have also been awarded, consolidating the Silverio Franconetti Awards as one of the most important recognitions in flamenco at an international level.
In previous editions, the award for Best flamenco Tablao highlighted institutions such as Corral de la Morería or Los Gallos de Sevilla. The award received by El Cordobés is a recognition of its more than half a century of history, commitment, and love for flamenco that is experienced every night in the heart of La Rambla.
Since its foundation in 1970, Tablao Flamenco Cordobes has been a cult stage, a must-visit for the great names of flamenco, and a springboard for young promises, maintaining an artistic line that respects tradition and at the same time bets on innovation. This recognition comes in a particularly symbolic year, the 55th anniversary of El Cordobés.
