The transformation works of La Rambla enter the final phase

On January 14, 2026, the Barcelona City Council organized an informative session on the transformation works of La Rambla.
The session, which was attended by the director of Urban Development, Àlex Montes, the general director of BIMSA, Ricard Font, and the head of the Rambla Office, Aina Pedret, took place in the Ernest Lluch room at the headquarters of the Ciutat Vella District.

Phases of action
GÒTIC Phase: sidewalk opening. Initial forecast of 11 months. Executed in 12 months due to archaeology and services in B2
RAVAL Phase: sidewalk opening. Initial forecast of 10 months. Opening to traffic at the end of May 2026
CENTRAL Phase: Paving of the central promenade, planters, and services. Preliminary start on November 17, the rest from January 19, 2026
Total term: 32 months
