Videos to (Re)Discover La Rambla II. Casa Beethoven
With this series of videos they want to invite you to (Re)Discover La Rambla. We want to bring you closer to institutions, historic businesses, attractions, traditions...
This second video is dedicated to Casa Beethoven.
Since 1880 Casa Beethoven has been a must-visit spot for all music lovers in our city. Professionals and amateurs know that the music score they are looking for is hidden in the crowded shelves of this establishment.
The store specializes in music scores - they have more than a thousand references - but also offers an important catalog of music books, manuals, and specialized books in different music styles.
A small shop that seems to come out of a historical film, antique wooden furniture, shelves loaded with music scores, the piano in the middle of the store (where Jaume, or one of his guests, offers improvised recitals) and an apparent disorder are some of the reasons that make Casa Beethoven charming.
They accept inquiries and orders by mail, fax, or email, but it is worth going to the store and getting advice because they know what they are talking about. Entering Casa Beethoven is always a recommended experience, it's like taking a trip back in time. You have to go without rushing, look around, browse, and breathe in the atmosphere of one of the oldest establishments on La Rambla.
Casa Beethoven's hours are from Monday to Friday from 9 am to 8 pm (on Wednesdays they close at noon from 2 pm to 4 pm). On Saturdays they have the same schedule in the morning, but in the afternoon they open from 5 pm to 8 pm.
The "Videos to (Re)Discover La Rambla" are part of the project "La Rambla, a new model of Urban Tourism" with which Friends of La Rambla want to invite you to stroll along La Rambla and get to know it better. The project is supported by the Generalitat de Catalunya, the Barcelona City Council, and GetYourGuide.
