Xavi Blaya wins the Setba 2025 Award for his work París
October 7th. 2025
Yesterday evening, the Auditorium of CaixaForum Barcelona hosted the fifteenth Gala of the Setba Prize, an edition marked by emotion, tribute, and rhythm.
Since 2011, the Setba Foundation has been organizing this painting contest for artists with intellectual disabilities, which has grown exponentially: from the 76 works presented in the first edition, it has reached over 1,100 in this year's edition.
The Setba Prize has established itself as the most generously endowed contest in Spain in its category, with a total economic contribution of €12,730, highlighting art as a tool for inclusion and social transformation.
Winners of the 15th edition
The first prize went to Xavi Blaya, from the Occupational Center Les Corts (Barcelona), for his work Paris, a watercolor of poetic atmosphere and great artistic sensitivity.
The second prize was awarded to Montse Urgell, from the Alba Association (Lleida), for the work Footprints, and the third prize to Marta Balcells, from the entity ACUDAM (Mollerussa), with the work Penguins.
A new feature was the Pigment Gallery Acquisition Prize, through which the gallery owner Ferran Josa acquired one of the finalist works for his private collection.
During the gala, the commemorative book of the 15 years of the Setba Prize was presented, a volume designed in collaboration with the studio La Casa de Carlota, gathering all the winning and finalist works, as well as images of galas, exhibitions, and collaborations with companies and institutions throughout these fifteen editions.
Exhibition of the finalist works
The awarded and finalist works of the Setba Prize 2025 can be seen from today until October 20 at the Pigment Gallery (C. Trafalgar, 70, Barcelona).
Musical finale and institutional presence
The gala ended with a vibrant performance by Candeli, the Prince of Rumba, accompanied by Peret Reyes and Víctor del Rio, and a refreshment for all attendees.
The event was attended by the Minister of Culture of the Government of Catalonia, Sònia Hernández; Najat Driouech, deputy and spokesperson of the Social Rights and Inclusion Committee; Xavier Fina, Director General of Cultural Promotion and Libraries; and Marta Serra, responsible for Promotion and Support at the Municipal Institute for People with Disabilities, as well as representatives of collaborating entities and companies of the project.
