Miraestels by Robert Llimós

Robert Llimós' Star Gazers are one of the attractions on the Rambla de Mar. The floating sculptures that hover in the Port of Barcelona are a representation of the human figure, 3.5 meters high, and are part of a series of variations, in sizes and materials, about this being that questions the sky.

With their presence, watchful, the Star Gazers entrust us to take care of and respect the sea. And it does so in the middle of the same sea - the Mediterranean - that wants to encourage us to preserve it.

Robert Llimós is a painter and sculptor from Barcelona with a long career and an extensive body of work enjoying international recognition. His work exudes a primitive charm, a certainty made of certainties. And it exhales moving and brave poetry.

The Star Gazers are a tribute to the artist Joan Brossa and their origin is a collection of poems by Brossa that he baptized as Saltamartí. Brossa defines it in the first poem of the book as an analogy between the object and "the people" of an lucidity and humor out of orbit.

Saltamartí

Puppet
that carries a
weight at the base and that,
deviated from its
vertical position, stands up
straight again.
The people.
