On Santa Mònica Street, a monument dedicated to the Santpere family saga was built, especially to Josep Santpere (1875 - 1939) and his daughter Mary Santpere (1917-1992).

The monument is a fountain that reproduces the theater of Epidaurus and contains a frieze with scenes from the artistic life of those honored. It was commissioned to the architect Òscar Tusquets and his usual collaborator Juan Bordes.

Mary Santpere's children were very pleased: "It is a monument not to the Santpere family, but to the theater in general." It cost 19 million pesetas, provided by the City Council and the Provincial Council of Barcelona, the Government of Catalonia, and the Ministry of Culture. Initially, the fountain by Tusquets and Bordas was planned to be placed at Paral·lel, where father and daughter performed a good part of their artistic career, but in the end, it was preferred to be placed at La Rambla. The reason given was that Josep Santpere performed at the Teatre Principal on January 17, 1907, in La santa espina, by Àngel Guimerà. It was the day he met his future wife. It was inaugurated two days before Christmas in 1995.

The homage to the Santpere family is a work by the sculptor Juan Bordes and the architects Oscar Tusquets, Carlos Diaz, and Eduardo Egozcue. It is made of reddish artificial stone with bronze reliefs and a fiber optic installation.

The homage to the Santpere family was inaugurated on December 23, 1995.
